Garry Walsh, managing director for Southeast Asia at APCO Worldwide, has more than 15 years of senior consulting experience. Before moving to Singapore in 2010, he was managing director of APCO’s European headquarters in Brussels. He has a strong background in the technology sector and has worked with most of the world’s leading brands in this area.
Mr. Walsh has worked on public affairs issues and campaigns in North America, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the Asia Pacific. He has led government relations activities in two of the world’s biggest anti-trust cases, worked on a number of financial transaction deals and managed campaigns to help global corporations enhance their image and corporate reputation.
Educated in the United Kingdom, he has lectured on public affairs at University College London and is a regular contributor to programs run by information technology associations. Mr. Walsh served as a member of Westminster City Council in London from 1998-2002. He is a member of the International Public Relations Association.
In 2007, Mr. Walsh was named European Consultant of the Year by Public Affairs News. His campaigns have won and been short-listed for a number of communication awards, including the PRWeek Awards, CNET: Best Technology Communications Campaign, and the Institute of Public Relations Frontline Awards. During his leadership of APCO’s Brussels office, the company won numerous awards, including Public Affairs News' European Consultancy of the Year for two years in a row and the European Public Affairs' award for Agency of the Year for two consecutive years.
